Louise's season ends in loss to Round Top-Carmine

CommentWin or lose, Bryan Branch didn't want the Louise Lady Hornets to hang their heads.
Getting to the regional tournament was an accomplishment in itself for them.
"Our defense had been pretty consistent all year long, but the offense came around an we hit the ball well," he said. "We hit it well tonight, but Round Top hit the ball better."
But for the Lady Hornets, in a matchup against defending state champion Round Top-Carmine, the firepower was just too much. Louise lost Friday night 20-25, 20-25, 12-25.
"We played pretty good defense," Branch said. "They're bigger and have more hitters than us. We played them twice and played them way better than earlier. They just have way more fire power."
Lauren Hlavaty led the team with 15 kills and 7 digs to lead the team.
"She's carried us through the playoffs, she hit the ball well and played well," Branch said. "They just all played well. You get this far, and there's only four teams left in the region, to be one of the final four in the region is quite an accomplishment."
