Victoria native Zach Blevins took top honors Tuesday in his age group the South Texas PGA's junior tour event at Victoria Country Club.
Blevins, 14, shot a 6-over 78 to beat Corpus Christi's Billy Teichman by two strokes in the 13-15 age group.
Blevins also tied for the best round of all age groups and genders with New Braunfels Chris Einfalt, who was an age class ahead of him.
Also competing in that group from the area: Jared Galvan of Victoria finished tied for fifth after shooting an 87; Victoria's Hayden Redding tied for seventh after shooting an 89; Victoria's Stephen Turek Jr. and Patrick Kostella tied for ninth by shooting 90 each; Jack Bordovsky and Hunter Redding tied for 12th by each shooting a 92; and Reed Price and Chase Spicak tied for 15th after shooting 102 each.
Seth Spicak was took top honors in the boys 10-12 age group by shooting a 100.
In the boys ages 16-18 group, Victoria's Chad Williams was the top local finisher, shooting an 83 to take third.
Also in that age bracket, Moulton's Tyler Swartz tied for seventh with a 92; Victoria's Wade Strickland finished ninth with a 92; Runge's Levi Lewis and Yorktown's Grant Allman tied for 10th by shooting a 94 each; Woodsboro's Justin Fierova shot a 97, and Port Lavaca's Preston Nichols shot a 115.
In the girls 16-18 group, Goliad's Amanda Cloessner shot a 109 and finished second, while Yoakum's Anna Kvinta shot a 111 and finished third.
HOLE-IN-ONE AT RIVERSIDE
Leonard Minjarez made a hole-in-one Wednesday at Riverside Golf Course, draining one on Hole No. 2 of the Blue Nine. He hit a 3-wood from about 185 yards out. It was his first hole-in-one, and was witnessed by David Ortiz, Paul Guerra, Andrew Vasquez and Joe Barrera.
