West's Draper stands second after preliminaries

CommentSHENANDOAH - Victoria West's Mallory Draper holds second place after the preliminary round of the girls one-meter diving event at the Region VI-4A swimming and diving meet on Friday at the Conroe ISD Natatorium.
Draper completed eight dives on Friday and will perform three more in Saturday's final.
The top two finishers advance to the state meet.
Victoria East's Sean Morin qualified for the championship finals in the boys 100-yard butterfly.
El Campo's Keri Wilkins qualified for the championship final in the girls 100 breaststroke.
The West girls 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams, the East boys 200 medley, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay teams, and the West 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams qualified for the consolation final.
The finals get under way Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
