Three area athletes have been named to the American Southwest Conference Winter/Spring 2011-2012 Academic All-Conference Team.
To be eligible for the team athletes must have a 3.20 or better grade-point average, while being an active member of their team.
The team is voted on by the sports information directors from each school.
Concordia senior Lauren Vansickle, a St. Joseph graduate, and Texas Lutheran junior Sarah Carmichael, a Yoakum graduate, were selected in softball.
Vansickle is majoring in finance and Carmichael is majoring in communications.
Schreiner junior Kelley Spahn, a Gonzales graduate, was selected in women's tennis. Spahn is majoring in exercise science.
