Armstrong named to All-American team
KINGSVILLE - Texas A&M-Kingsville wide receiver Robert Armstrong was named to Beyond College Sports Network 2012 Preseason Division II Football All-America Team on Monday.
Armstrong, a junior from Cuero, was a first-team all-Lone Star Conference selection in 2011 after earning honorable mention as a freshman.
Armstrong had 51 receptions for 626 yards and eight touchdowns and scored 10 total touchdowns despite being injured one play into the ninth game of the season.
As a freshman, Armstrong had 45 catches for 590 yards and six touchdowns.
He is on pace to become only the second player in school history with at least 200 career receptions and has a chance to break to the school record of 30 career receiving touchdowns.
