LA GRANGE - Flatonia is headed to the state softball tournament.
The Lady Bulldogs cruised to a 11-1 win over North Zulch on Friday night in Game 2 of their best-of-three Class 1A regional final series. The game was stopped after 5 1/2 innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.
Flatonia (28-5) captured an 11-2 win in Game 1 on Thursday night. North Zulch ended the season with a 26-7 record.
Flatonia's Katie Steinhauser pitched a five-hitter and went 2 for 4 with three RBIs.
Crystal Rodriguez was 3 for 4 and scored three runs, and cleanup hitter Taylor Williams was walked four times, twice intentionally.
The Lady Bulldogs won the state title in 2003.
Flatonia will play a semifinal game on Wednesday at 9 a.m. or noon at McCombs Field in Austin.
