CORPUS CHRISTI - Victoria East broke open a close game in the second half and claimed a 67-43 win over Corpus Christi King on Tuesday night.
The Lady Titans (2-5) led by four points at halftime, but outscored the Lady Mustangs 36-16 in the final two quarters.
Bre Williams scored 23 points, Kamri Hardeman had 15 and Sonya Acuna had 14 to pace East.
Van Vleck tops Flyers
VAN VLECK - De'drion Dennard scored 24 points and Kalvin Singletary added 12 to lead Van Vleck to a 59-33 season-opening win over St. Joseph on Tuesday night.
Cody Janak and Barclay Proctor each scored seven points to pace the Flyers, who fell to 2-1.
Logos Prep tournament
SUGAR LAND - The Faith Academy girls finished fourth and the boys finished fifth in the Logos Prep tournament, which concluded Tuesday.
Brittany Church scored 15 points to lead the Lady Cougars (5-5) to a 53-45 overtime win over St. Thomas Episcopal.
Courtne Grevey scored 17 points and Maegan Wilkinson had 13 in the Lady Cougars' 50-43 loss to Houston Incarnate Word.
Wilkinson was named to the all-tournament team.
Eli Espindola scored 12 points to lead the Cougars (3-5) to a 49-15 win over the Northeast Christian JV.
Geoffrey Graff scored 14 points in the Cougars' 46-40 win over the Northeast Christian varsity.
Graff was named to the all-tournament team.
St. Joseph girls fall to Sacred Heart
Hallettsville Sacred Heart outscored St. Joseph 30-22 in the second half to rally for a 52-51 win on Tuesday night at the St. Joseph gym.
Adrienne Klimitchek scored 15 points and Kristen Heger had 14 to pace the Indianettes (2-0).
Kensey Marshall scored 19 points and Iris Young had 13 for the Lady Flyers (2-2).
