The University of Houston-Victoria softball team will move from the only home its ever known for the upcoming season.
The team will be moving to the City of Victoria Youth Sports Complex in 2013, leaving St. Joseph's O'Connor Sports Complex.
The move to the complex became official on Friday.
"We are very appreciative of all that St. Joseph's school and Bill McCardle has done for our softball program through the years," said UHV athletics Director Ashley Walyuchow. "They've played an instrumental part in getting our program off the ground, but we have an opportunity to help our program financially with the move and that is the reason behind the decision."
Walyuchow said the move would not impact any other operations at the city complex and that UHV would be working with all programs to keep scheduling as smooth as possible.
"This in no way will affect any of the high school or youth teams that currently use the complex," Walyuchow said. "A lot of work and planning has gone into this decision."
The Jaguars have compiled a 63-15 home record during their time at the O'Connor Complex.
