    UHV men, women lose

BELTON - The University of Houston-Victoria soccer programs had winning streaks snapped Monday afternoon.

Wayland Baptist beat the Jaguars men 5-0. The win was the largest margin of victory in school history for the Pioneers (3-1).

The UHV women lost 4-0 to Wayland Baptist earlier Monday. Natalie Stahmann's goal in the 23rd minute broke a UHV scoreless streak of 226 minutes, the longest streak in school history.

Both UHV teams were playing their third game in four days. Following shutout victories, for both the men and women Saturday, head coach Adrian Rigby said Monday's contest would test his teams mentally and physically. The UHV men fall to (2-3) while the women are now (2-2).

Afterward, Wayland Baptist head coach Shiloh Posey told the school's website he was pleased with the performance of the Pioneers women.
