    Texas A&M-Kingsville athletic director resigns



    KINGSVILLE - Brian De'Angelis has resigned as the athletic director at Texas A&M-Kingsville.

    The resignation was effective Wednesday, the university announced on Thursday afternoon.

    De'Angelis has been at A&M-Kingsville for just over six weeks, after spending the last five-plus years as the athletic director at East Central University in Oklahoma.

    De'Angelis previously spent over seven years at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in several positions.

    D. Scott Gines, vice president for institutional advancement, will assume the operational control of the A&M-Kingsville athletic department and a search for De'Angelis' replacement will begin immediately, according to a university release.
