KINGSVILLE - Brian De'Angelis has resigned as the athletic director at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
The resignation was effective Wednesday, the university announced on Thursday afternoon.
De'Angelis has been at A&M-Kingsville for just over six weeks, after spending the last five-plus years as the athletic director at East Central University in Oklahoma.
De'Angelis previously spent over seven years at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in several positions.
D. Scott Gines, vice president for institutional advancement, will assume the operational control of the A&M-Kingsville athletic department and a search for De'Angelis' replacement will begin immediately, according to a university release.
