UHV men's soccer upsets Oklahoma City in 2OT

Stiven Ospina scored, perhaps, the most important goal in the history of the University of Houston-Victoria men's soccer program Friday evening.

The Victoria Memorial graduate scored in the 109th minute to give UHV a 3-2 overtime win over No. 23 Oklahoma City. The Jaguars trailed 2-0 after Trevor Harmon scored in the 51st minute.

Ospina assisted Abel Farias' goal in the 61st minute to get UHV on the scoreboard. Freshman Austin Chadwick scored the first goal of his career in the 78th minute to tie the game.

UHV improves to 5-6 on the season, and wins consecutive games for the second time this year.

WOMEN: OKLA. CITY 1, UHV 0 (OT)

The University of Houston-Victoria women's soccer program nearly pulled off a historic result Friday. Minutes away from securing a draw against the No. 5 team in the most recent NAIA poll, the Jaguars couldn't hold on.

Allison Worsham's 97th minute goal gave Oklahoma City a 1-0 overtime victory. Brenna Skillern put in a free kick from the right, and Worsham finished the chance, and the game, with her team-leading eighth goal of the season.

Oklahoma City had 31 shots on the day, but only 11 were on frame. UHV freshman goalie Jennifer Sanchez made 10 saves in the loss.

The UHV women fall to 4-5 on the season, while the Stars remain an unblemished 6-0-0 on the year.
