West's Garcia wins regional wrestling title

AUSTIN - Victoria West's John Garcia won the boys 120-pound division at the Region IV-4A Wrestling Championships on Saturday at the Delco Center.
Garcia earned the gold medal with a 7-5 decision over Micah Shonfeld of Leander Rouse in the championship match.
West's Jasmene Porter finished second in the girls 215-pound division.
West's Austin Supak finished third in the boys 128-pound division, and Lorraina Moses was third in the girls 148-pound division.
West's Keirsten Reed finished fourth in the girls 119-pound division, and Victoria East's Josh Morales was fourth in the boys 138-pound division.
East's James Cavazos finished sixth in the boys 132-pound division.
Garcia, Porter, Supak, Moses, Reed and Morales qualified for the state tournament scheduled for Feb. 21-23. The girls tournament will be held at the Burger Center (Feb. 21) and the Delco Center and the boys tournament will be held at the Delco Center.
