Victoria West wrapped up its regular seaon with a 59-36 victory over Beeville Jones. However, the big news is the Warriors taking second place in District 30-4A.
In Tuesday night's game, West built a 34-19 lead at the end of the first half and cruised to a 23-point victory.
James Murphy led the way for the Warriors (18-12, 8-4) with 14 points. Darien Henry finished with 12 points, Akeeme Green and Ruben Trevino each had 11.
Titans end season on sour note
Victoria East had its season come to a close Tuesday night when Gregory-Portland earned its first district win of the season in a 65-53 victory.
Gregory-Portland, who had lost its 11 previous district games, led the Titans 37-30 at halftime.
Jalen Wilson led East in scoring with 12 points, with a pair of 3-pointers, and Terry Kinney finished the night with eight.
The Titans end the 2012-2013 season 14-18 overall and 4-8 in district play.
Hyde Park too much for Flyers
Cody Janak had another big night, scoring 17 points for the Flyers, but it wasn't enough as Austin Hyde Park won Tuesday night's first round matchup in the TAPPS District 3-4A tournament, 67-48.
Hyde Park led 34-27 at halftime. It was a lead the Flyers were never able to overtake.
Barclay Proctor finished the night with 14 points, in cluding three 3-pointers, Adam Konarik scored 10 and Jerry Vasquez had six.
