    St. Joseph grad takes third at international tournament

    St. Joseph graduate Chloe Velasco placed third at the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship on July 25-29 at the PGA National Resort Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Fla. Velasco turned in scores of 74, 77, 72 and 77 for a four round total of 300. First place was Fiona Liddell, of Germany, who had a 297 and second place was Ariadna Fonseca, of Venezuela, with a 299.

    Chloe Velasco competed in the Texas-Mexico Junior Cup from July 5-July 9 at Hyatt Hill Country Resort in San Antonio. The Texas Team won by two points in the Ryder Cup format.
