It's not difficult to understand why other schools are tired of hearing about Refugio. But some fans making comments seem to overlook the fact that the Bobcats suffer immensely from a lack of strong competition in the area. Usually, the consequences do not show up until the Bobcats get well into the playoffs, when, for the first time, they have to face a really good team. For a variety of reasons, no doubt, most area fb programs are a level or two below the strongest in the state. Every team in south Texas needs to strengthen its program
The first real test for the Bobcats may not come until their second game of the playoffs the weekend of Nov. 19 & 20, when, based on current standings, they will likely face either Poth or Karnes City. In between, as Coach Herring clearly sees, the problem is complacency among themselves. Not only may this be the 2010 Bobcats be the best Herring has coached, the may also be the best team Refugio has ever had.

Which second round playoff matchup are you most looking forward to?
Of area schools, Cuero and Refugio have the best chance of advancing deep into the playoffs. Is there a reason for not listing Refugio vs Dilley?
