Vasquez has big game, but Flyers fall

BROWNSVILLE – Jerry Vasquez had 21 points, all on 3-pointers, and was 70 percent shooting from the field, but the St. Joseph Flyers fell on the road to Brownsville St. Joseph Academy in a heartbreaker Saturday, 58-57.
“It was a back and forth game the whole way, we took a little lead into the third, but they fought back and caught us at the end,” said coach Abraham Garcia.
The loss drops St. Joseph to 20-9, and 1-1 in district.
Brownsville hit a 3-pointer with 15 seconds that proved to be the deciding shot.
