Got a call from a reader in Carancahua Bay about a disagreement she had with some friends. The reader is from Ohio and an unabashed Ohio State football fan. They were dining out and the conversation turned to the Rose Bowl. Her friends said Texas was going to the Rose Bowl and she said Texas was not going to the Rose Bowl. Technically, they are both right. The Rose Bowl game played in Pasadena on Jan. 1 will feature Big 10 champion Ohio State against Pac 10 champion Oregon. Texas will play Alabama in the BCS Championship Game on Jan. 7 at the Rose Bowl. By the way, the Rose Bowl is the home stadium for UCLA. The Bruins will be playing in the Eagle Bank Bowl in Washington D.C.
