Ready for opening night

It's my first football Friday in Texas tonight.
Everyone keeps asking me if I'm ready. We've worked to have everything lined up for this big night, and we've gone over the game plan. And it's not like I've never covered high school football before.
But this promises to be a different animal entirely. Before I moved to Texas, one of the few things I knew was high school football is huge.
I'll find out tonight how true that really is.
And as much as I'm concerned with making sure we get all the information to give to readers, I'm just as excited to see the results for myself.
Will Victoria East start its program 1-0? Who will win the Top 10 battle between Cuero and Wimberley? Who's going to step up and have a big night?
All these questions we've been tossing around for the last month will be answered tonight, and I, along with everyone else, am on pins and needles to get those answers.
This will be the first night of many, and I can be sure that one way or another, I'm ready.
