There were all kinds of sporting events in the area on Friday night.

Obviously, football is always capturing the attention of fans across the region. And UHV's men's and women's soccer teams were both making their regular season home debut.

But over at Victoria East, the Titans volleyball team had its own special evening.

Playing their first home game on the new campus, the Titans faced a very tough Flour Bluff team - one that beat Memorial last season.

They were impressive in every aspect, soundly defeating their opponents in three straight games.

But what was also impressive was the passion displayed by fans in attendance. The stands weren't packed - it was a Friday night in Texas and the weather wasn't doing us any favors - but the fans that made it out to the game made it sound like a full house.

The student section in particular showed great school pride and helped key the team to victory.

Head coach Jamye Pauley said she thought the crowd had a great impact, and that the girls appreciated the support.

Here's a quick look at what the visitors had to deal with on the Titan's court.
